PE/Sports Funding

Here at St. Michael’s we are extremely proud of our strong sporting tradition.  We have always been proactive members of the local sporting community, participating in many District, County and National tournaments. From the most sporty and athletic to those who can be less reluctant to take part in physical activity, every child is encourages to develop their personal qualities through sports. For some, this comes through being exposed to new activities and pushed out of their comfort zones whilst on a school residential, for others, the chance to shine doing something they love and are successful in.

“”I Like archery because you get to practise using a bow and arrow and you can get better at it.” Naomi Year 1

“I like PE because you get loads of exercise and it’s really fun. I like skipping because it gives me strength.” Thomas Year 2

“In PE we do activities like gymnastics. I like it because I can stretch my back and I feel relaxed afterwards.” Amelia Year 3

“Every single year you get to do something different like football, tennis, yoga, dance and gymnastics. My favourites so far have been football and tennis.” George Year 4

“I like running around on the field in PE. I have enjoyed being part of the football team because I get to represent the school in tournaments.” George Year 5

“I like how PE gets you prepared for doing more sports at High School. The High School I’m going to has produced lots of netball stars. I like learning netball because I would like to be a famous netballer when I am older.” Emily Year 6
